Every year is a new chance to start over fresh, revamp your style, and leave the past behind! 2010 is the year of individuality and personal style. So far I have begun filling my closet with studded everything...boots, belts, skirts...you name it I love it! To stray away from the stereotypical 'rocker' look, I tend to add signature pieces like key necklaces, flashy pendants, chunky bangles, and my favorite— my zipper earrings! I also have been adding splashes of color, like an all black ensemble with a shock of lime green mixed in to break up the dark colors. My secret is to never stick to one particular look— mix two together like rocker chic and mod. Define your personal style, go with it and never look back! You never know, people may just follow.
♡Handcrafted Accessories One of the best places to buy one-of-a-kind jewelery and accessories is at the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. Famous for its array of seafood, produce and unique shops, Pike Place is a major tourist destination. A little unknown secret is that some of these shops have unusual and fun rings, necklaces and earrings that friends will envy. Of course the best handcrafted jewelry comes from you yourself. Just go into a bead store and they will have everything you need to make earrings, necklaces, bracelets etc. You can also take a jewelry making class if you are at a loss as to what to create... regardless you will come away will a little something that is all your own!
♡Over-the-knee Socks & Funky Leggings If you buy one thing this season, let it be these. Thigh-high socks allow you to wear skirts and dresses without completely freezing (or at least give the illusion that you aren't) and can be found at places like American Apparel and Anthropologie.
♡Rompers Super easy ensembles in and of themselves, rompers are back 'en vogue'! Along with bodysuits, short-alls, and one-pieces, rompers were re-introduced this past summer. But don't put it in the back of your drawer just yet— paired with tights and ankle-boots, rompers can be worn year-round. Some of my favorites are from Urban Outfitters. Lately I have been seeing velvet jumpsuits even on the red carpet, on the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Lady Gaga also brought back the bodysuit in her sexy music video, "Poker Face." They can be dressed up for a night on the town, or dressed down to become a street chic ensemble.

♡Biker Boots I own a pair of Rocket Dog 'Chaingang' boots that I cannot seem to take off...I wear them to school once a week in the pouring rain, paired with my black Guess skinny jeans. It may be the security in the notion that I won't slip and fall on my face in the slick city streets, or that I feel my inner rocker persona intensified...either way I'm in love!

♡Graffiti The above picture is from British street artist Banksy, whose work was born out of the Bristol underground scene. His artworks are often satirical pieces on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics and combines graffiti writings with a distinctive stenciling technique.
