I first fell in love with the grainy texture of black and white photos after finding some of my grandmother from her wedding day. As cheesy as it sounds, there is something very real and honest about no color photographs, and the way people's soul seems to seep out. The photos have a timeless quality to them. Unlike color photographs, black and white plays with shadows and light— the most important element of a photograph.
"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever...it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
Parting Gift: check out this website called stuffwhitepeoplelike.com. It is kind of irritatingly accurate...some of my favorites are #125 Bob Marley, #118 Ugly Sweater Parties and #75 Threatening to move to Canada.
